In 2024, Dr. Tabia Pope founded the Academy of Certified Sports Speech-Language Pathologists™ (ACS-SLP), an online educational community and certification program that applies evidence-based professional development, service delivery, and business and practice management standards to athletics, sports and fitness. The designation (Certified Sports SLP™) distinguishes SLPs who work in athletics, sports, and fitness. Head to Speech, Incorporated, serves as the academy's nonprofit arm and has been dedicated to athlete brain health, sports concussions, and their effects on cognitive-communication skills since 2021. In this course, Dr. Tabia Pope explores the expanding role of speech-language pathologists (SLPs) in brain health and sports concussion management. Learn how SLPs can develop skills in this emerging area and how workforce development shapes new career pathways.

Weekly group coaching sessions in Spring 2025. Please schedule your Certified Sports SLP™ Interview on the following days: Monday, February 17th, Monday, February 24th or Monday, March 10th. We'll start with one session before the program kicks off on May 4th. Then we'll have eight regular sessions the week of May 5th - June 23rd. We'll end with a final exam review on June 30th. Each graduate will have time to study self-paced courses and sit for the final exam offered between July - August. The program will be limited to 5 participants to make this a valuable time for everyone. Sessions are based on collective availability.
